Inclusive by design
Checking your loan options shouldn't be blocked by barriers of any kind, digital ones included. Our goal is for every visitor, whatever their disability, assistive technology or browsing setup, to be able to use Debt Assist Hub fully.
The standards we follow
Debt Assist Hub works toward conforming with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The guidelines rest on four principles:
PPerceivable
Content is presented so every visitor can take it in, including through text alternatives, captions and sufficient color contrast.
OOperable
Every part of the interface, and every path through the site, works with a keyboard, voice or another input device.
UUnderstandable
Text and interface behavior stay clear, consistent and predictable.
RRobust
Content stays compatible with a wide range of current and future assistive technologies.
We review the site against these standards as it changes, and we keep working on anything that falls short.
01
Accessibility features on our platform
We've built in a number of features to support different needs and preferences:
Semantic structureA proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions and meaningful link text throughout
Keyboard navigationThe whole site can be used without a mouse, with clearly visible focus indicators
Text alternativesDescriptive alt text on informational images, for screen reader users
Color contrastText and interface elements are designed to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios
Scalable textText can be enlarged up to 200% without losing content or function
Skip linksA skip link lets keyboard users jump past repeated navigation
02
Known limitations and ongoing work
We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA across the whole site, but some areas may not fully conform yet. Here is what we're actively working on:
Some third-party embedded components, such as the loan-matching form, may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control
Some older PDF documents may not be fully optimized for screen readers, and we're working through them
Older video content may not include captions, while new video is captioned by default
Help us find what we've missed. If you hit a barrier that isn't listed here, tell us. It goes straight onto our list of improvements.
03
Compatible assistive technologies
Our site is designed to work with the following:
Screen readersNVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS) and TalkBack (Android)
Keyboard onlyNavigation with standard and extended keyboards
